Discover The State Of Pasta

If you find yourself wandering through Vientiane and craving a comforting plate of pasta, The State Of Pasta is the perfect stop to indulge your appetite. Nestled on Nouai 02 Ban Xieng Ngeun, Thanon Manthatourath, this charming little eatery not only serves a variety of pastas but has a unique approach to creating each dish, making it stand out in Laos' ever-evolving dining scene.

The first thing that strikes you when you walk into The State Of Pasta is the warm, welcoming vibe. The restaurant’s cozy, no-frills interior invites guests to relax and enjoy their meal. The open kitchen design is especially captivating, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how your pasta is prepared. It's an experience in itself, watching the chef expertly toss fresh ingredients into the pan, creating aromatic symphonies with each sizzle.

When it comes to the menu, The State Of Pasta doesn't try to overcomplicate things. The restaurant’s focus is squarely on perfecting pasta dishes, but it does so with a little twist. The ingredients are sourced locally whenever possible, giving each dish a fresh, vibrant flavor that complements the rich pasta. Whether you’re a fan of classic Italian flavors or prefer a more daring combination, there's something on the menu that will surely tantalize your taste buds.

One of the standout dishes is their signature pasta with pesto. The pasta is always perfectly al dente, and the pesto sauce is rich, made from scratch with fresh basil and a blend of other herbs that make each bite pop with flavor. It’s clear the chefs put a lot of love into this dish, as the balance of flavors is exceptional. Pair it with one of their local wines or a refreshing soda, and you have yourself a delightful meal.

For those who like a bit of spice, The State Of Pasta offers several pasta dishes with just the right amount of heat. Their spicy arrabbiata is a hit, with its tangy tomato base and a satisfying kick that adds a bit of excitement to the palate. The spice is balanced just right, so it doesn’t overwhelm the other flavors, and the portion sizes are generous without being over the top.

The restaurant also offers an impressive range of vegetarian options. One dish that stands out is their vegetable lasagna, filled with layers of fresh, seasonal vegetables and covered in a creamy, perfectly seasoned sauce. It’s comfort food at its finest, made with care and attention to detail. Even those who typically shy away from vegetarian meals will find themselves going for seconds.

What makes The State Of Pasta particularly memorable, however, is the personal touch. The owners often make an appearance during service, engaging with customers, taking feedback, and even recommending their favorite dishes. This connection with guests is part of what makes the dining experience so special. They genuinely care about the food they serve and the satisfaction of their customers. It’s no wonder that many visitors come back time and again for that familiar, friendly service.

The ambiance here is casual, but the attention to detail is anything but. It's a wonderful place for a relaxed lunch, a date night, or even a cozy dinner with friends. It’s the kind of spot where the food is hearty, the service is warm, and the experience leaves you feeling right at home.

It’s worth mentioning that The State Of Pasta also pays attention to its sustainability practices. They make efforts to reduce waste and source ingredients responsibly, which adds an extra layer of appeal for conscious diners. This commitment not only makes a positive environmental impact but also ensures the food served is of the highest quality.

Whether you're a pasta aficionado or someone looking to try something new, The State Of Pasta offers an experience that blends authentic flavors with a local twist. From the deliciously simple pasta dishes to the inviting atmosphere, it’s a must-visit for anyone in Vientiane looking to savor a delicious meal. The perfect balance of expertise, experience, and love for food comes together beautifully here.

  • Had one night in Vientiane and was craving some pasta. This popped up and we were not disappointed! We were greeted at the door with the most friendliest employee who seated us immediately making sure we were comfortable. Looking through the menu, it was hard to choose what to eat as everything sounded amazing. The pricing was super affordable for the quality we received as well. I got a classic carbonara and it was up there with one of the best ones I’ve had! To finish off we were offered a dessert menu and couldn’t help ourselves but get a chocolate fondant cake to share. I highly recommend this restaurant if you need a break from all the other delicious authentic Lao food

  • Amazing meal, I got the Wagyu bolognese and my friend got the Carbonara both were great. A little bit on the pricier side but if you’re looking for a good meal with great service definitely would recommend. Also the chocolate fondant was to die for!!

  • Incredible tasting pasta in town. The nduja sauce was a nice blend of creamy and spicy, pasta was al dente. I first went here years ago for the lao sausage pasta, glad to see the menu has expanded. ++ The staff were welcoming and attentive.

  • Clean and modern.... kind staffs. Mine (Ravioly) was fine. My friend ordered pasta marinated oil which is not tasty. Anyways for me , i was nice to visit this place.

  • What I liked most about their food: 1. All their pasta is handmade and you can select the type you want. 2. The carbonara sauce is not cream-based and is made the traditional way, with just cheese and egg (yolk, I believe) - which is great! And they used guanchale, not just any ham. However, its taste was quite bland to me.
